Nightloop — Terms of Use
Last updated: October 3, 2026
These terms govern your use of the Nightloop app, operated by Côme Delamare (sole trader, Malta). By using Nightloop you agree to them. If you got the app from the Apple App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.
1. The service
Nightloop is a sleep companion with Nilo, a plush mascot. It offers a sleep journal and morning check-ins, a sleep age, a night recorder that keeps funny moments (sleep talk, snoring, laughter), wind-down stories, sounds and breathing sessions, wake-up alarms, and Nilo's reactions to your nights.
2. Not medical advice
Nightloop is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. Your sleep age, scores, estimates and Nilo's comments are for information and fun only. If you are worried about your sleep (for example loud snoring, pauses in breathing, or persistent tiredness), talk to a doctor.
3. The alarm
The alarm relies on your iPhone. The gentle wake-up that starts before the alarm time needs the app to still be running at night (with the night recorder on); otherwise the system alarm rings at the set time. An alarm may not ring if the phone is off, out of battery, muted in a way the system alarm cannot override, or if iOS prevents it. Please don't rely on Nightloop alone when missing a wake-up could have serious consequences.
4. The night recorder and other people
The night recorder can also hear other people in the room, such as a partner. If you share your room, let them know it is on, and follow the laws of your country on recording other people. You may not use Nightloop to record anyone without their knowledge.
5. Nilo's reactions and personal lines
- Nilo's humor is cheeky and sometimes crude (roasts and gross-out jokes). It is never meant to hurt.
- If you turn on personal lines, Nilo's answer to what you said is written by an artificial intelligence and voiced by a synthetic voice. Transcriptions and answers can be wrong, miss the point, or be in poor taste. You can turn personal lines off at any time in Me › Personal lines.
- Nilo's lines are fiction and jokes, not statements of fact and not advice.
6. Age
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use Nightloop.
7. Subscriptions
- Nightloop offers auto-renewing subscriptions, weekly or yearly, each with a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers. The exact price is always shown in the app before you subscribe. After the trial, using the app requires an active subscription.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period (or of the free trial).
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your iPhone's Settings › your name › Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's terms.
8. Your content
- Your recordings, check-ins and journal are yours and stay on your iPhone.
- If you turn on personal lines, you allow us to process the words Nilo heard, only to write and voice his answer (see the Privacy Policy).
- You are responsible for what you share outside the app, especially clips in which other people can be heard.
9. Sharing
You may share your recaps, clips and Nilo's reactions made with the app's share feature, for example on social networks, for personal and non-commercial purposes.
10. Acceptable use
You may not misuse Nightloop: for example by trying to get around subscriptions or usage limits, copying or reselling its content, reverse-engineering the app or its servers, or using it to harass or spy on anyone.
Weekly league. Your username, avatar and weekly points are visible to the other players of your league group. Choose a username that isn't offensive, hateful or someone else's name; we may replace a username that breaks these rules. To keep every group lively, a league can include computer-generated players alongside real ones. League places and rewards are for fun and have no monetary value.
11. Intellectual property
The Nightloop app, its design, its characters (including Nilo), its voices, stories, sounds, alarms and technology belong to us or our licensors. These terms give you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control.
12. Disclaimers and liability
Nightloop is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
13. Termination
You may stop using Nightloop at any time. We may suspend access for anyone who violates these terms. Sections 8, 11 and 12 continue to apply after termination.
14. Changes
We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new date. If you keep using Nightloop after a change, you accept the new terms.
15. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Malta, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer
protections of your country of residence.
